Japanese car maker Honda is one of the country's popular car manufacture brand. Honda has recently declared that they are going to start production of 2 of their next cars in India only. They are Honda Mobilio and Honda Jazz. Honda Mobilio has recently presented in Delhi AutoExpo 2014 and company has disclosed that they will start manufacturing this car by this June from Greater Noida plant in volumes of 45,000 units per annum.
This car comes under MPV segment and will launch with both petrol and diesel variant by this year end. Honda mobilio will be the best fule efficient car in the MPV segment, as per company's statement. The petrol model of the car will pack 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor, with a power of 117bhp and the diesel variant will come with 98bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit. The car have to face a tough competition from Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Nissan Evalia. The price of Honda Mobilio in India will be in the range of 6 lakh to 8.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
In the other hand the new Jazz will come with a new avatar this time and company will start manufacturing this car from July this year from new Tapukara plant in Rajasthan in volumes of 20,000 units annually. Jazz will also launch with both petrol and diesel version. The petrol version of the Jazz is speculated to pack the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, which can generate a power of 87bhp, with a torque of 110Nm at 4800rpm. The diesel Jazz is likely to pack a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor, which can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque. This car will also be packed with many other features like power steering with mounted audio controls, front and rear power windows, electrically adjustable rear view mirrors, climate control unit and more. The expected price of Honda Jazz in India will be in the range of 4.7 Lakh to 7.5 Lakh.
