State Bank of India (SBI) has already taken the step to engage in social media websites like Facebook and youtube bu launching accounts on Facebook and Youtube, but now it has taken a step ahead by launching a twitter handle on last Friday. Prior to that mid-sized private sector lender Kotak Mahindra Bank had already launched twitter-linked current accounts last month itself. So now SBI has also joined the same race it-seems. And also this is an indication that other banks will also launch similar products to attract customer as lining to social media is the biggest platform to connect with customers.

"Targeting huge customer base as well as potential customers, there will be round-the-clock tweets on the banks' products and services, as also continuous education of the customers," SBI said in a statement.
